About Tempera Mente

Tempera Mente sings music that tempers the mind and stirs the spirit. The Dutch collective strikes a fine balance between individual expression and harmonious blend, with its singers performing both as soloists, and as ensemble singers in some of the leading early music groups. After playing together in many different constellations, Anna Bachleitner brought together this group of good-humoured musicians from across Europe in early 2024. In its first projects, Tempera Mente explores its own musical heritage by juxtaposing early German baroque repertoire with later Italian repertoire, or music from the Iberian peninsula. Taking advantage of the many musicologists in the ensemble, Tempera Mente searches for surprising connections and fresh perspectives on rarely performed repertoire.
